BIOFORTIS MODERATES PANEL: INFORMATICS TOOLS IN THE TRANSLATIONAL MEDICINE ENVIRONMENT
COLUMBIA, MD (3/12/08) --- BioFortis, a leading provider of software tools for life science research and personalized medicine, moderates the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) Summit on Translational Bioinformatics in San Francisco today. The summit, the first of its kind for AMIA, highlights projects and developments in the biomedical informatics world specifically regarding translational informatics support.
The panel discussion moderated by BioFortis brings together leaders in genomic medicine and informatics spheres, including directors of translational research divisions and research informatics at the National Institutes of Health, private universities and biotechnology companies. The panel, entitled “Translational Informatics in Action: Perspectives from the Front,” focuses on the use of informatics tools in solving real world problems from personalized genetic medicine to translational biomarker development. The utility of BioFortis’ software product, Labmatrix, was featured in many of the presentations and the ensuing panel discussion.
